Do you paint trim or walls first?
This may vary from project to project but typically our team will work more efficiently by first painting the walls and/or ceiling and then finishing with the trim. We work more efficiently in this manner as we can roll paint on the walls without any concern of it dripping on the unpainted trim. We will then paint the trim bringing your interior home painting project to completion.
What are the steps to painting the interior of a house?
With Long Painting the steps start in our first meeting when we provide you with the estimate. In this process we will not only be providing you with an estimated price but will also walk you through our planned approach and have an open discussion for which colors to will work best. Once there is a clear understanding on the square footage our team will gather the required materials including:
- The necessary amount of paint
- Paintbrushes
- Paint rollers
- Extensions poles
- Painters tape
- Paint trays
- Sandpaper
- Rags
- Plastic coverings
- And various other items
We will then move into preparing all of the walls and rooms by moving your furniture into an alternate room or by ensuring everything is covered by plastic sheets to stay protected from any paint splatter.
Once the preparation is completed and each of the walls have been taped off our team will ensure the paint has been properly mixed, confirm there is proper ventilation, and get to work on painting the interior of your home.
As the paint dries we will start our standard cleaning process making sure everything is left as if we were never there (Besides your beautiful new paint job of course).
