The Long Painting team will first assess the area to be waterproofed to understand if there is any existing damage that needs repairing and also locate any water penetration areas.

After completing any necessary repairs, the surface that needs to be waterproofed has to be prepared for the job.  This entails a thorough cleaning of the surface to ensure it is adhesive for the waterproofing material. 

To improve adhesion, a primer is applied to the surface.  

The waterproofing application style will vary based on the surface.  Waterproofing styles include rolling, brushing, or spraying on the material. 

Waterproofing materials include Elastomeric Coatings, acrylic coatings, silicone coatings, and many alternative materials. 

Once the waterproofing material has been applied and all necessary drying periods have been met, you will want to test the effectiveness of the material.  Testing for leaks or any ineffective areas is a critical step to ensure that you don’t run into any issues. 

Once the Waterproofing has been fully applied and tested you may want to apply some finishing touches such as sealants or coatings to add an extra protection and durability.
